Broken Bread (Music Ministry)

Leviticus 10:3 By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy; and before all the people I must be glorified.

Broken Bread is a music ministry that exists to provide an atmosphere whereby others can “worship the Father in spirit and truth” (John 4:23).

Eugene Bak serves as our Director of Music Ministries and leads Broken Bread. He is happily married to Tara and is blessed with three wonderful children Ryan, Robin and Koa.

MOTR (Men Of The Rock)

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 “Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up.”

Our purpose is to glorify God by making Christ-like disciples:

• Establishing them in a close walk with Christ through His Word.
• Equipping them for the work of the ministry.
• Extending them in opportunities to love and minister to others.

What are Men’s small groups?

Rock Community Church is a place where every man is a growing disciple. Small groups foster that growth through Bible study, prayer, fellowship, mutual support and service. Small groups are made up of no more than 10 members that will meet about every two weeks for a year.

Eugene is happily married to Jean Chang and has three young children.His sense of humour lightens up any room he’s in and he has a heart to serve God by bringing men into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ through the participation in small group Bible studies. WOTR (Women Of The Rock)

Titus 2:3-5 “Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips, nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.”

We believe Christian women have a special role in the church to lead and encourage other women in the faith. WOTR exists to provide and promote small group discipleship, where women can teach and encourage one another to grow in Christ.

Janette Lee, serves as WOTR leader and teaches in the Pebbles Sunday School ministry. She is very blessed to be married to her best friend, John Lee.

Tina Kim has been a member of the Rock since 1999. Along with being a WOTR leader, she also serves on the Broken Bread worship team and contributes to the Word for Today. She is very thankful and blessed to be married to Thomas Kim.

Tammy Kim joined the WOTR team in 2000. She is married to Rich and is the mother of two beautiful daughters Rachel and Taylor.

Manna

Acts 2:46-47 “They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.”

Manna Ministry provides support for families in need with love. The support is primarily in the form of food, fellowship, and prayer.

Sara is married to Leo and has two daughters Trinity and Alyssa. She is always trying out new recipes in pursuit of finding that perfect meal.

Cross Trainers

Corinthians 9:24 “Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.”

CROSStrainers is a fitness and running ministry. God has blessed many of us with able bodies. It is our responsibility to care for these bodies so that God can use them as He chooses. A large part is exercise (the other part is diet). CROSStrainers provides an encouraging atmosphere in which participants shape the bodies God blessed them with. We set goals and we work toward accomplishing them.

John loves to exercise. Sweat and exertion bring him great joy. He can be found running on the trails near the Credit River or mountain biking deep in the woods. His two year old son, Luke, is also quite active and likes to mimic John’s actions. Luke is getting very good at push-ups, running and stretching. John’s wife, Liz, is also very fitness oriented and holds certification with CanFitPro. The three of them want you to join CROSStrainers.

Pebbles (Children's Ministry)

Matthew 19:14 “But Jesus said, ‘Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’”

Pebbles Children's Ministry exists to provide children with an opportunity to worship God and hear His word, such that they will begin a personal relationship with Jesus Christ early in their lives, leading to a life of true abundance.

Jennifer Kim serves as Children's Ministry Director at Rock Community Church. She is a teacher and an avid runner. Married to a wonderful husband Jay and mother of two boys Josiah and Jonathan, she can often be found coordinating events for the children or running after, around or with them.

Oasis

Isaiah 58:11 “And the LORD will continually guide you, And satisfy your desire in scorched places, And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.”

Oasis is a fellowship ministry for men and women that work downtown. For those that desire fellowship in His word, prayer, or a time to be strengthened in the company of your brother and sister in Christ, there is an Oasis for your thirsty soul.
